Problem:
Customers with heavy printing workloads (hundreds to thousands of jobs daily) sometimes experience lost print jobs during large-volume printing.
Some customers need to restart the print server for every print job, which is inconvenient.
Solution:
Log in to the print server via its IP address using a web browser.
Navigate to System Config → Receive Timeout, change the value from “20” to “0”, and save the setting.
Explanation of Parameters:
20 Seconds (default): If the print server doesn’t receive data from the computer within 20 seconds, or if the computer stops sending data for 20 seconds, the print server automatically disconnects the connection. This allows other computers to connect. Reason: Some printers are slow and have small memory, so the system waits for print jobs to be fully complete.
0 Seconds: The print server will not automatically disconnect from the computer.
